Project Title: Structural health monitoring of aircraft structures using wireless transmission
Project Description:
The main topic of the project is structural health monitoring (SHM) of aircraft structures using the method of ultrasonic guided waves (UGW). Within this complex topic, the main area of interest will be the transition from the classic connection of the measuring chain using cables to a wireless network and the associated suitable algorithms for defect detection, as well as the optimization of the PZT sensor for the given type of structure. The goal is to design and experimentally verify the functionality of a wireless PZT sensor network on a typical composite aircraft structure and to detect the induced damage.
