Representatives of VZLU AEROSPACE and Lockheed Martin have signed an agreement to launch a new project aimed at developing artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) capabilities for aerospace research and development. The project is part of an industrial collaboration related to the Czech Republic’s acquisition of F-35 fighter aircraft from Lockheed Martin.
The project lays the foundations for the practical deployment of AI solutions in aerospace technology. The main objective is to build infrastructure and develop new capabilities in the field of AI and ML, which will subsequently be used in aircraft design, propulsion, and avionics. Unlike commonly used procedures, ML methods will be more time and cost-efficient while maintaining a high aviation safety standard.
“Artificial intelligence is a key element of the future of aerospace. This project will strengthen our capabilities in this area,” said VZLU AEROSPACE’s CEO, Josef Kašpar.
The contract was signed on 28 May 2025 at IDET in Brno. The project will start in June 2025.
