Workshop on Unsteady Measurements in an Axial Turbine Stage

A workshop concerning unsteady measurement of axial turbine stage took place in VZLÚ laboratories in Prague Palmovka on 12 October 2010.

The objective of the workshop was to present the work and the results that have been achieved within the project FT-TA5/067 Unsteady Flow of an Axial-Flow Turbine Stage Investigation.

The workshop was intended for students (Master’s and Ph.D.) of technical universities. It was focused on introduction of research issues, laboratory measurements and also the introduction of a unique measuring device, which was developed within the project.

The workshop started with several lectures on research of unsteady aerodynamic measurements with samples of measurements’ results. This was followed by an excursion to the labs with practical demonstration of measurement and testing equipment.

The workshop was attended by representatives from the following institutions: ČVUT FS (Faculty of Mechanical Engineering), ZČU (University of West Bohemia), VÚTS Liberec, Institute of Thermomechanics of the Academy of Science ČR, Skoda Power, PBS Energo and PBS Velká Bíteš.
