At the June meeting, the VZLU Aerodynamics Department was accepted as a member of the SATA association. SATA (The Subsonic Aerodynamic Testing Association) was founded in March 1965 and today associates organizations engaged in low-speed wind tunnel testing. The members are leading research, academic and commercial organizations all over the world.
The major benefit for VZLU from the membership is sharing of practical information concerning solutions of problems that occur during aerodynamic experiments and operation of low-speed wind tunnels. In addition, individual measuring procedures and modernization activities are presented in this community. This information exchange helps to keep the wind tunnel facility in high technical level, which is required for investigation of present research topics. Beside the increase of measurement accuracy, the focus is also on reduction of operation costs.
VZLU´s Membership in SATA develops the scientific level of experimental aerodynamic disciplines at VZLU and increases VZLU´s international visibility as well.
