Ing. Martin Kadlec, Ph.D., researcher of VZLU, received the prestigious award called "Jaap Schijve Award", awarded annually to young researchers. The award was given at the symposium ICAF in Helsinki, from representatives of the aviation institute NLR and Delft University.
Price Jaap Schijve Award, which includes a medal and a bonus of € 5,000 is awarded to young researchers who have contributed to scientific progress in the field of material fatigue tests applied in aviation technology. Price is sponsored by aviation institute NLR (The Dutch National Aerospace Laboratory) and Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.
The main selection criteria used by the jury are:
• High quality of scientific contributions
• The relevance of these scientific contributions to the issue of fatigue tests and damage-tolerance
• The general quality of publications in peer-reviewed journals
• The impact of research on aeronautical engineering
