High-speed wind tunnel measurements

WE OFFER:

  • Weight and pressure measurement of 2D airfoils and 3 D scale models (mock-ups of airplanes, their parts, half-wings, missiles and other bodies that are exposed to high velocity effects in operation)
  • Non-steady pressure measurement on these mock-ups
  • Probe calibration (static pressure and total pressure probes, directional sensors, ice-accretion probes, etc.)
  • Pressure characteristics of new probes being developed at various angles of attack
  • Flow visualization

 

EQUIPMENT:

An atmospheric intermittent suck-down wind tunnel (A):

  • Tunnel designed to measure scale models´ aerodynamic characteristics
  • It features a device to excite vibrations in model tested
  • Four working sections can be made up:

A calibration atmospheric aerodynamic intermittent-run wind tunnel (C)

  • Tunnel is designed for small diameter probe calibration and tests
  • Working section is 0.12 x 0.12 m
  • Manipulable Mach numbers up to M 1.1
  • Tunnel is fitted out with device to excite flow air vibration to change inlet pressures for non-steady pressure measurement
  • Virtually uninterrupted run type due to a small size of working section
     

An atmospheric intermittent wind tunnel (M): 

  • Tunnel is designed to measure aerodynamic characteristics of scale models of small size and to calibrate pressure pick-ups
  • Mach number range 0.2 – 2.1
  • Working section size 0.24 x 0.2 m
  • Perforated walls
