VZLU participated in the project ENERGO within the years 2012-2015. The project was solved in the framework of programm Alfa called by Technology Agency CR. Under the number TA02021366 the project was engaged in research and development of small size turbine stage and was implemented in cooperation with an industrial partner PBS ENERGO, a.s. The goal was to develop a new pressurized degree with higher efficiency for use in steam turbines with lower outputs.
Based on experimental results and CFD calculations the new inputs were defined to design vane and rotor wheel blades equipped with a shroud on the vane hub.
The newly designed, optimized stage was set up to the test prototype and a detailed measurement of parameters was carried out. The increasing efficiency of degree by more than two percentage points was declared from the experimental results.
