Developing a new all-composite blade

The Air Propeller Division of VZLU is now completing the development of a new all-composite blade of revolutionary design intended for a fan drive of the wind tunnel at the University of Ontario, Canada.

Weight savings of one blade is 65 per cent on the duralumin structure one. The blade is manufactured by RTM process using know-how from aircraft propeller design. Its structure employs temperature resisting materials with carbon and aramid reinforcement. Most modern simulation and computing techniques have been used in its development, making it a cutting-edge product in terms of design and technology.

Original technology solutions of the blade are protected by utility models registered by the Industrial Property Office in Prague.
