Part of the Czech junior national team, the Olympian Klára Křížová with her coach Petr Záhrobským and Kryštof Krýzl, visited VZLÚ’s wind tunnel in September and October.
For testing purposes, an open atmospheric wind tunnel with a circular measuring area of 1.8 meters in diameter was used. Its indisputable advantage is the possibility of interaction between the coach and the racer. Depending on the measurement results, athletes can not only change their downhill body position but also adapt their sports equipment to achieve the minimum drag.
A television report from the wind tunnel was broadcasted by the Czech Television:
In the past, the wind tunnel was used for example by Radek Čermák, an expert in speed skiing, and Eva Samková, only sixteen years old at that time, now a successful representative in snowboardcross and 2014 Olympic champion.
