VZLU obtained Czech patent for transparent mould for precision casting

A transparent mould for repeated precision casting, made of a composite material

On January 11, 2017, a new Czech patent No.306517 was issued to the Aerospace Research and Test Establishment, entitled: A transparent mould for repeated precision casting, made of a composite material, the originator of which is Ing. František Martaus.

The transparent mould for repeated precision casting will be used in a number of technical sectors where there is a demand for making a precise molding or casting without obvious defects, as well as in the field of research, development or modification of new production technologies.

Annotation: The transparent mould for repeated precision casting, made of a composite material, where an optically clear and transparent thermoset polymer resin is used as the matrix and optically clear and transparent glass fibres are used as the reinforcement , when the difference of the values of the refractive index of light of the polymer matrix and the reinforcement, which the composite material of the mould consists of, is nearing zero.
