VZLU participation in the Association of European Research Establishments – EREA

The main objective of the project is to raise funds for the payment of membership fees related to VZLU‘s participation in the Association of European Research Establishments in Aeronautics (EREA) and the financing of business trips of project team members in connection with their work in the governing bodies of EREA. Financial support of the project allows keeping full membership of VZLU in EREA and active participation in their governing bodies.

Nowadays there are 9 EREA´s members, one for each country: DLR (Germany), CIRA (Italy, ONERA (/France), FOI (Sweden), INTA (Spain), NLR (Netherlands), VZLU (Czech Republic), ILOT (Poland) and INCAS (Romania).

  • Create and implement common programmes of activities of its members

Expected project benefits for VZLU:

  • influencing conditions and orientation of research programs supported by the EU
  • greater cooperation with other European aeronautical research institutions

  • acquisition of strategic information needed to update the strategic research agenda of the Czech aviation

The Association has strong relations with the European aviation industry, particularly through ASD (Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe) and IMG4 (Industrial Management Group). EREA is a partner to the EU and its directorates (particularly DG Research and DG TREN). It tries to harmonize national interests by means of GARTEUR (the Group for Aeronautical Research and Technology in Europe). To this category also belongs cooperation with ACARE (Advisory Council for Aeronautics Research in Europe), the technological platform for aeronautical research, which is the European Commission´s advisory body for aeronautics.
