Composite materials in the primary structure
Project objectives
Composite materials, their corresponding design and test methods and production technologies are considered strategic know-how by all advanced industrial countries. The Research Plan is aimed at the research in use of composite materials in primerstructures of devices based on the principle of rotating lifting surface. Beside their main aerodynamics purpose these devices are accumulators of kinetic energy generated by rotation and a failure of any part of their primary structure can cause seriousimpactsto the operational safety and reliability of the devices.

The targets of the plan are qualitatively higher design parameters of the devices (increased added value), higher reliability of design methods (reduction of development costs),reduction of the time required for design and development process (reduction of development costs), reduction of environmental impacts (use of progressive technologies), assurance of research team stability and education of young research workers.
