Clean Sky 2 conference

On 15 February 2017, a national conference called Clean Sky 2 organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in cooperation with the main Czech participants of the program was held in Prague.

The Clean Sky 2 representatives presented the program's structure and the opportunities offered to businesses and talked about the Horizon 2020 synergy action plan with the European Structural and Investment Funds. Evektor, Honeywell and GE Aviation Czech presented their activities under the program. Woodcomp Propeller as a co-ordinator introduced the Argos (Aerospace Propeller useful for diesel engines) project. Other participants of the project are Jihostroj and VZLU. The topic of the project focuses on the development of a special hydraulically adjustable composite propeller and its damping system.The propeller demonstrator will be tested on the diesel engine of the French company SMA belonging to the SAFRAN consortium.

Chairman of the Association of Aerospace Manufacturers (ALV) and Chairman of the Board of Directors of VZLU Josef Kašpar presented the participants priorities and strategic goals of the Czech aerospace industry as a follow-up to Clean Sky 2 activities.

Among the speakers were Zdeněk Mikulka (Evektor), Rob Levin (GE Aviation Czech), Marcela Sapáková (Honeywell International), Michaela Vlková (TC AV ČR), Petr Průcha (LA composite) and Hynek Walmer (Jihostroj) .
