Located in Prague – Palmovka neighbourhood, this tunnel is used by customers from power engineering, aeronautics, and other engineering fields up to a flow velocity of Mach 3.5.

Tunnels for blade cascades measurement (LM)

  • Tunnel for aerodynamic characteristics measurement in blade cascades 100 mm in width 
  • Measurements can be made on blade surface 
  • Sensor can crab (move transversally) in canal behind blade 
  • Flow visualization using shadow and schlieren methods with Zeiss 80 optics 
  • Mach number at blade inlet: 0.1 to 0.98 
  • Reynolds number range: 0.06 to 1.2x106

Tunnels for turbine wheels measurement (TU) 

  • Aerodynamic characteristics of stator wheels, aircraft engine assemblies, gas and steam turbines 
  • Measurements can be made on blade surface 
  • Sensor can crab (move transversally) in canal behind blade 
  • Mach number at blade inlet: 0.1 to 0.98 
  • Reynolds number range: 0.06 to 1.2x106

Tunnels for characteristics measurement of axially symmetric bodies (NC) 

  •  Aerodynamics characteristics of axially symmetric bodies up to supersonic velocities of M3.5

Orifice plate line CT500:

  • Flow mass measurement using standardized orifice plate line 
  • Measurement of loss and frequency characteristics in machines´ flow path 
  • Determination of flow meter characteristics 
  • Detailed measurement of velocity field with comb sensor 
  • Max. flow rate 15 kg/s
